Halo Games Will No Longer Be Produced by 343 Industries

They Instead Will Oversee Outside Development

According to rumors, 343 Industries will take a back seat in the creation of upcoming Halo titles.

According to a recent source, the series’ upcoming games would be developed by independent firms rather than longstanding producer 343 Industries, who has been removed from “active production” of the franchise. According to Halo leaker Bathrobe Spartan, who has a proven track record of disclosing inside information about the game, and as translated by Metro, 343 Industries has been severely impacted by Microsoft’s major layoffs and will lose up to a third of its personnel. According to reports, seasoned developer Joseph Staten is leaving the studio and joining Xbox Publishing.

Then, 343 Industries will assume a parental role for Halo, supervising fresh games and material while attempting to keep the game’s engine running smoothly. Although 343 Industries has used outside assistance to create the multiplayer content for Halo Infinite (Season 2 is a perfect example of this), Bathrobe Spartan alleges that the intended story-based DLC has been abandoned since it was deemed not cost-effective under 343’s management.
