Star Wars games are on the mend after being tied down to EA for the last few years. We have so many new Star Wars games coming out over the next few years that will be sure to please everyone. Star Wars is even getting the ‘Heavy Rain’ treatment with Quantic Dream at the helm. Quantic Dreams was rumored to be working on a Star Wars title for some years, but it wasn’t until last year’s Game Awards that Star Wars: Eclipse was officially announced. The game is set in the “High Republic” era of the Star Wars universe, hundred of years before the Skywalker Saga begins, and during the golden age of the Jedi Order and the Republic.
While only a cinematic trailer was shown, the kicker was that the game’s release date was set for 2027 or 2028. This struck fans as odd, as why would they even tell fans of the games existence if it is over 5 years away. The justification at the time was the announcement was a sizzle reel to get game developers to want to work for Quantic Dream and get the product out sooner.
Now it is rumored that the development of the game is going smoother than what people have previously heard. Previously the studio was unable to hire staff, now it seems they have found candidates and are hard at work on the title. The new rumored release date is now sometime in 2025. Still, that date does seem to be far, far away.
