CW Going For The Top

The CW is hard at work on most of its shows and some were blessed with early series renewals such as its biggest show, The Flash.

The Network also renewed ‘All American’, ‘Kung Fu’, ‘Nancy Drew’, ‘Riverdale’, ‘Superman & Lois’, and ‘Walker’.

The network is best known to target a young adult demographic. Normally the network hands out series renewals in January, but this year has been in the air as the network is most likely getting a new majority owner.

The Flash will be going into its ninth season with this renewal, making it the longest running show in the ‘Arrowverse’. The former title holder was ‘Arrow’, the show that gave birth to the phrase for the continuity of the shows taking place in the same universe. Arrow lasted for 8th seasons after originally planning to end on its 7th season, but a very compelling 8th season was drafted and actor Stephen Amell loving the script and wanting to reprise his role one last time.

All American will be going into its 5th season and Superman & Lois will be going into their 3rd season after having a great first season and a well received season 2.

Riverdale is working towards its 7th season and there is no word on whether this will be the last we see of the show.

Kung fu just started its 2nd season this month and was renewed for a 3rd season. Nancy Drew was thought to be on the chopping block but has surprised viewers by getting renewed for a 4th season. This will be in addition to its spinoff series, ‘Tom Swift’ which does not currently have a release date.

There are still some shows that are waiting to hear if they will be renewed , such as the likes of, ‘4400’, ‘Naomi’, and ‘All American: Homecoming’. All of those shows were on their 1st season and awaiting a second.

Some show renewals don’t look as promising due to a ratings decline. This would include: Legends of Tomorrow, Dynasty, Charmed, Legacies, and Batwoman.

Stargirl has had a great start and will most likely get a renewal. In The Dark, is about to start its 4th season. Roswell, New Mexico was picked up for a 4th season ahead of its 3rd season premiering,
