Palworld Devs Apologize for Unintentionally Fixing Bug That Allowed Players to Capture Tower Bosses

Palworld developer Pocketpair has issued an apology for what it refers to as “inadvertently fixing a bug” that allowed players to capture tower bosses in the survival game. The latest patch brought several quality-of-life changes and bug fixes, but one of these fixes, according to Pocketpair, was not intended.

In a statement on its English Twitter, Pocketpair acknowledged the unintended fix: “As a result of various bugs that we fixed in the most recent patch, a bug that allowed players to capture the tower boss was unintentionally fixed. We apologize for inadvertently fixing a bug.” The bug in question allowed players to add tower bosses to their roster, creating two-in-one trainer-Pal combos that mirrored the behavior of these bosses in tower fights.

Interestingly, the statement suggests that the developers may have been aware of the bug and even participated in the fun. The question now arises whether Pocketpair will reintroduce the bug as a feature in the future, either in its original fiddly form or as a more straightforward gameplay element.

Palworld players have already expressed their desire for the bug to be reinstated. The game’s official Discord server and subreddit are filled with requests for catchable tower bosses. Many players have praised the developers for embracing the chaotic fun of the bug. The ongoing discussion suggests a strong community interest in finding a solution that satisfies both players and the game’s mechanics.

As players await Pocketpair’s decision, the unintentional fix has sparked lively discussions about the role of bugs and features in game development, showcasing the evolving relationship between developers and players in the gaming community.
