Chris Hemsworth Reflects on “Thor: Love and Thunder” Experience

Too Wacky?

Chris Hemsworth, known for his portrayal of Thor, has shared his thoughts on “Thor: Love and Thunder,” expressing mixed feelings about the film. Directed by Taika Waititi, the fourth installment in the Thor series received a more divisive response compared to its predecessor, “Thor: Ragnarok.”

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Hemsworth admitted to getting caught up in the improvisational and quirky aspects of the film, feeling that he “didn’t stick the landing.” Despite this, it remains uncertain whether he will return for another Thor movie, although there were teases in the post-credits scenes of “Thor: Love and Thunder.”

Robert Downey Jr., who portrayed Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, praised Hemsworth’s performance, describing it as a “formidable hat trick” across “Thor: Ragnarok,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” and “Avengers: Endgame.” Downey Jr. emphasized Hemsworth’s ability to embody a complex psyche with wit, gravitas, restraint, fire, and gentleness.

Hemsworth’s next project is “Furiosa,” a prequel to “Mad Max: Fury Road,” where he will play the character Dementus opposite Anya Taylor-Joy’s Furiosa. He discussed his preparation process for the role, including journaling as the character, which led to surprising insights.

As fans await further developments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hemsworth’s reflections provide an intriguing glimpse into the challenges and rewards of portraying such an iconic character.
