In celebration of Minecraft’s 15th anniversary, Netflix and Mojang Studios are launching a new animated series. Developed by WildBrain, the studio behind Sonic Prime, the series will present an original story set in the Minecraft universe with new characters, diverging from familiar faces like Steve.
The teaser trailer features iconic Minecraft elements such as the creeper and the sounds of shuffling zombies. Minecraft, first released in 2009, has evolved into a global phenomenon with extensive merchandise, popular YouTube tutorials, and an upcoming live-action movie starring Jason Momoa, Jack Black, and Danielle Brooks.
No release date has been announced for the Netflix series yet.
