Ubisoft Delays Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence Beyond March 2025

Ubisoft has announced delays for its upcoming free-to-play mobile shooters, Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence, pushing their release dates beyond March 2025. This announcement came as part of Ubisoft’s latest first-quarter earnings report, which also noted a “solid start” to the current financial year.

Rainbow Six Mobile, a 5v5 competitive FPS, and The Division Resurgence, a third-person open-world shooter RPG, were both originally set to launch before the end of Ubisoft’s current financial year on March 31, 2025. The delay aims to give development teams the necessary time to meet high expectations and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) in a demanding market.

Both titles, which Ubisoft refers to as “triple-A” mobile games, were announced in 2022 and have undergone closed beta testing since then.

Despite the delays, Ubisoft’s Q1 report highlighted several successes. The launch of the free-to-play shooter XDefiant in May attracted 10 million players in its first two weeks. Rainbow Six Siege also experienced strong year-on-year growth in player activity and monetization, while The Crew Motorfest showed solid engagement. Additionally, the Assassin’s Creed series continued to perform well, boosted by the announcement of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Ubisoft’s net bookings for the quarter reached €290 million, surpassing its €275 million target. CEO Yves Guillemot stated that the results indicate the company is “on the right track” after a challenging 2022-23 year that saw project cancellations and a more cautious strategy.

Looking ahead, Ubisoft is preparing to launch Star Wars Outlaws on August 30 and Assassin’s Creed Shadows on November 15. The next entry in the Anno series, Anno 117: Pax Romana, is slated for 2025.
