According to Reports, EA Fired Over 100 Apex Legends Testers

APEX LEGENDS MOBILE AND BATTLEFIELD MOBILE WERE JUST CANCELLED, AND THIS MOVE FOLLOWS THEIR CANCELLATION.

At Its Baton Rouge, Los Angeles Office, Electronic Arts Apparently Abruptly Fired the Entire Quality Assurance Testing Staff on Tuesday.

Three Kotaku sources claim that more than 100 contractors were informed of the situation at an unplanned forced Zoom meeting that took place at 8 a.m. this morning.

According to reports, the affected workers, who primarily worked on Respawn’s battle royale game Apex Legends, will receive severance pay of only 60 days, which is less than the duration of many of their contracts.

According to reports, they were told that they could only get their personal stuff from the office if security was present.

The layoffs come after last month’s announcement by EA that it would shut down Industrial Toys, close Apex Legends Mobile, and cancel Battlefield Mobile before it was even released.

Also, it apparently canceled a secret Titanfall game that was intended to be a standalone Apex Legends game.

Revelry, the sixteenth season of Apex Legends, debuted on February 14. Since the game’s debut four years ago, a new season of Apex Legends has never begun without a brand-new Legend. Legend classes were instead “remastered” by Respawn.

Together with sunsetting Arenas, Revelry also added the long-requested Team Deathmatch as a new temporary mode.
