According to reports, Game Pass Friends and Family was found on the Xbox backend.
According to reports, a logo for “Xbox Game Pass Friends and Family” has been found, which may indicate an official multi-user subscription is shortly to be released.
The supposed service logo was discovered by Twitter user @ALumia Italia, who crawls the Xbox backend.
Microsoft said earlier this month that it was testing a new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tier in Ireland and Columbia that would permit subscribers to share their subscription with a number of others.
It looks that the new service tier’s launch name will be Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family.
According to a statement made by Microsoft earlier this month, users in Ireland and Colombia will be able to “add up to four people to [their] subscription, all with their own unique access to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate titles, content, and bonuses.”
Although they are not need to be Insiders, players who are added to a subscription must reside in the same nation as the Insider who is adding them. This effectively limits the trial to Ireland and Colombia for the time being.
Additionally, it looks that when this new program is made available to the full Xbox community in the future, it will cost more than Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
“Joining the Game Pass Insider Preview will convert the time remaining on your membership to time in the new plan, based upon the monetary value of the old membership,” reads an Xbox blog detailing the plan.
“For example, a full month of Ultimate will be converted to 18 days of membership for this plan. This way you won’t lose any of the remaining value on your existing subscription upon conversion. Conversion is final, and users must wait for their new membership to expire before returning to a previous membership.”
If this estimate were to hold true if the plan were to be made available to all users, the ‘family’ plan would cost $25 per month as opposed to $15 per month for Game Pass Ultimate.
