After a wave of online backlash sparked by a comment from Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford, publisher 2K Games has officially confirmed that Borderlands 4 will launch with a $69.99 price tag for its Standard Edition.
The pricing became a hot topic when Pitchford responded to a fan’s concern about potential costs, tweeting: “If you’re a real fan, you’ll find a way to make it happen.” The tweet quickly stirred up criticism across the community, with many fans calling the comment tone-deaf. Pitchford later followed up to clarify his remarks, but the conversation had already gone viral.
Now, with preorders officially live, players can see the full breakdown of what’s being offered across the game’s three editions — all set to launch globally on September 12, 2025.
