**In her upcoming book, “The Woman in Me,”** set to grace bookstores on October 24, the Princess of Pop discloses a deeply personal experience. Spears, now 41, describes her pregnancy in late 2000 as “a surprise,” though she emphasizes that it was not “a tragedy.” The profound excerpt, recently published by People, delves into her emotions.
Spears expressed, “I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated.”
However, the bombshell is that Timberlake was not thrilled about the pregnancy. Spears elaborates, “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”
The decision they faced, as Spears explains, was not without emotional turmoil. She admitted, “I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby. I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”
