A developer from CD Projekt Red, known for their work on Cyberpunk 2077 and now Project Hadar, believes it makes sense for the studio to develop a new IP. Announced in 2022, Project Hadar is CD Projekt’s original creation, distinct from their previous franchises.
During an interview at the Digital Dragons event in Poland, Maria Mazur, a former quest designer on Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion, expressed excitement about the new project. Mazur emphasized the importance of leveraging the studio’s diverse talent in storytelling and art to create something unique and original.
Mazur also addressed and dismissed rumors about Project Hadar’s setting, confirming it is not a “cosmic horror in Feudal Japan.”
Alongside Project Hadar, CD Projekt Red is also extensively working on The Witcher 4, while retaining much of the core development team for a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
