Code Violet, the Spiritual Successor to Dino Crisis, Remains Console-Exclusive to Prevent “Vulgar” PC Modding

TeamKill Media, the developers behind the highly anticipated spiritual successor to Dino Crisis, Code Violet, have confirmed that the game will not be released on PC. The decision comes amid concerns that the platform could be susceptible to pornographic mods that would compromise the game’s integrity.

In a recent social media statement addressing frequent requests for a PC version, TeamKill Media explained their stance:

“For those asking us about a PC version of Code Violet… the reason we are not bringing it to PC is we do not want anyone modding vulgar versions of the main character as well as other characters in the game. We hold our voice actresses and actors with high regard, as well as our artistic vision for the game and story and reject any form of destroying that with sexual mods. Making a joke out of our art and possibly tarnishing the reputation of our voice actresses and actors is not worth the extra money we can make.”

The studio emphasized that their decision is not a rejection of PC gamers or modders in general—they appreciate the creativity behind many fun modifications. However, they are “100% against p*rnographic mods… period.”

This concern over mod misuse isn’t unique to Code Violet. Recent controversies have seen industry figures, such as Square Enix’s Naoki Yoshida and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi, urging PC fans to avoid inappropriate mods when their games launch on the platform.

Currently, Code Violet is set to be a PS5 exclusive. TeamKill Media has also noted that due to resource limitations, they do not plan to bring the game to Xbox consoles at this time.

Stay tuned for more updates on Code Violet as we continue to follow its development and release news.
