EA Announces Largest Battlefield Development Team Yet

Electronic Arts (EA) CEO Andrew Wilson has revealed that the development team for future Battlefield experiences is the largest in the franchise’s history. This announcement follows EA’s recent inclusion of Motive Studio, known for their work on the Dead Space remake and Star Wars: Squadrons, into the Battlefield development team.

The collaboration between Motive and other EA studios like DICE, Criterion, and Ripple Effect aims to expand the Battlefield universe with interconnected multiplayer and single-player experiences.

During EA’s quarterly earnings call, Wilson expressed his excitement after experiencing some of the projects currently in development. He emphasized the scale of the team and the quality of their work, stating that the upcoming Battlefield installment will offer “another tremendous live service” for players.

This news comes after EA confirmed that Battlefield 2042 Season 7 – Turning Point, launched in March, would be the final update for the game.

As part of its current fiscal year ending on March 31, 2025, EA plans to release two unannounced games. One of these titles is developed by a third-party studio, while the other is based on an owned IP, reportedly Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

The expansion of the Battlefield development team signals EA’s commitment to delivering innovative and engaging experiences for players, setting high expectations for the future of the franchise.
