Game On with ROG Ally: ASUS’ Rival to the Steam Deck

RECENT REPORTS SUGGEST THAT ASUS IS WORKING ON A HANDHELD GAMING DEVICE TO GO HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH VALVE’S MUCH-AWAITED STEAM DECK. THE DEVICE, RUMORED TO BE NAMED ASUS ROG ALLY, IS SAID TO HAVE A STRIKINGLY SIMILAR FORM FACTOR TO THE STEAM DECK.

Oh wow, ASUS is supposedly cooking up a handheld gaming gadget to take on the mighty Steam Deck from Valve. Who would’ve thought? Brace yourselves, folks – it’s called the ASUS ROG Ally and apparently, it’s taking some serious design cues from the Steam Deck. Talk about originality, right?

Well, well, well, looks like ASUS wants to crash Valve’s Steam Deck party with their fancy-schmancy ROG Ally Play. Apparently, this bad boy is packing a Zen 4 + RDNA 3 APU, making it way more powerful than the Steam Deck’s custom AMD APU. Oh, and did I mention that it’s rumored to have a larger screen with a resolution of 1080p and a refresh rate of 180hz? Sorry Valve, but ASUS is clearly playing to win.

Well, isn’t this just grand? The ROG Ally Play may have some potential buyers a bit concerned about its rumored price tag, which is reportedly a whopping $1,000 or more! That’s quite a jump from the Steam Deck’s entry-level price of $399. But fear not, my fellow gamers, ASUS is expected to offer some unique features and benefits that’ll surely make it worth breaking the bank for.

Who cares if the Steam Deck has already gained a ton of attention and preorders, right? ASUS is clearly confident that they can still make a dent in the market. No official release date yet, but preorders are expected to go live very soon. Can’t wait to see how it measures up against the Steam Deck’s performance, battery life, and overall user experience.

It’s always thrilling to see new gaming gadgets hit the market, isn’t it? I mean, who doesn’t want to take their high-quality games on the go? We’re just spoiled for choice now, aren’t we?
