Take-Two’s Confidence in Rockstar’s Vision for GTA 6 and the Fall 2025 Release Window
Rockstar Games is striving to deliver a groundbreaking experience with GTA 6, and Take-Two’s CEO is highly confident in hitting the fall 2025 release window.
Recently, Take-Two confirmed that GTA 6 is slated for a fall 2025 release, quelling rumors of a potential delay to 2026. Following this announcement, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick appeared on CNBC to discuss Rockstar’s creative process and their confidence in meeting this deadline.
Zelnick highlighted the importance of minimizing bugs as a key indicator of progress in game development. “We all strive to launch with as few bugs as possible,” he said. However, for a game with extraordinary expectations like GTA 6, it’s not just about bugs. “It’s about creating an experience that no one has seen before, and Rockstar Games seeks perfection. Perfection is hard to measure,” Zelnick explained.
When asked about their confidence in the fall 2025 release window, Zelnick acknowledged industry-wide delays but emphasized their confidence in the timeline. “There is slippage in the industry and we’re not immune from that. However, we narrowed the timing because we are highly confident in that timing,” he stated.
Fans might not have to wait long for more updates on GTA 6. Recently, dataminers discovered API data on Rockstar’s website suggesting new cover art and screenshots could be revealed soon. Historically, Rockstar has released new information in May, fueling speculation about imminent announcements.
