Don’t Nod, the original developer behind the Life is Strange series, has announced a delay for their new Life is Strange-style adventure game, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. The decision was made to avoid overlapping with the release of Life is Strange: Double Exposure, which features the return of the original protagonist, Max Caulfield.
Originally set to launch in late 2024, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage will now be released in early 2025. Don’t Nod explained that this change ensures both games “have adequate space to shine.” The announcement highlights the studio’s respect for the upcoming Life is Strange game and the excitement surrounding both titles.
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage promises a narrative-heavy, teen-focused adventure with supernatural elements, echoing the themes that made Life is Strange popular. Don’t Nod developed the original Life is Strange in 2015 and its sequel in 2018 but did not work on subsequent entries like Before the Storm, True Colors, or Double Exposure.
The strategic delay reflects a growing trend in the gaming industry where developers adjust release dates to avoid direct competition with high-profile titles. This move mirrors previous instances, such as Baldur’s Gate 3 shifting its launch to avoid clashing with Starfield.
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, now scheduled for early 2025, is divided into two parts, drawing inspiration partly from Game of Thrones. Fans can look forward to another emotionally charged, narrative-driven experience from Don’t Nod.
