Paradox Interactive has announced the closure of Paradox Tectonic, the studio responsible for developing “Life by You,” a competitor to The Sims. This decision comes less than 24 hours after the abrupt cancellation of the game.
In a press release, Paradox Interactive CEO Fredrik Wester explained the challenging decision: “This is difficult and drastic news for our colleagues at Tectonic, who’ve worked hard on Life by You’s Early Access release. Sadly, with the cancellation of their sole project, we have to take the tough decision to close down the studio.”
Paradox Tectonic, based in California, employed 24 people and had been working on “Life by You” since 2019. The announcement marks a significant setback for the company as it sought to enter a new gaming genre.
The story is still developing.
