Richard Armitage, known for his role as Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit trilogy, revealed that his character’s sword, Orcrist, was stolen from his possession. The actor only realized the theft when director Peter Jackson alerted him that the sword was listed for sale online.
Armitage recounted that Jackson messaged him to ask if he was financially struggling after seeing the sword for sale, prompting a surprised Armitage to investigate. Following police involvement, the sword was recovered and is now proudly displayed in Armitage’s home.
