Marvel Studios has entered its fourth phase in its MCU offerings and is not letting up on the gas. While multiple projects are already on their way this year, it doesn’t mean Marvel is slowing down anytime soon, as it is being rumored that there will be a Nova project in the works sometime in the pipeline.
For those of you who don’t know, Nova, aka Richard Rider, is an enhanced member of the Nova Corps. His powers include enhanced strength, flight and extreme durability. He made his debut in “The Man Called Nova #1” in September of 1976 and was created by Marv Wolfman and John Romita Sr.
We last saw mention of the Nova Corps in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Richard Rider was not in that film however. The character was first rumored to get his project underway in May of 2020, but has since gone silent. Now that has changed as a writer on the latest Disney+ Show, Moon Knight, has been linked with penning a script for a Nova Project.
The tricky thing is whether this will end up being a Disney+ show or a full fledged MCU movie. This current phase has been secretly building towards the Young Avengers, so will we see an adult Nova or a kid version of the beloved character. Production is rumored to begin in 2023. We’ll stay tuned to find out.
