The 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2026

2026 is shaping up to be a massive year for movies. Between long-awaited sequels, major franchise shakeups, and a few wildcards that could surprise everyone, there’s a lot to look forward to.

Some of these films have been delayed, others are taking bold new directions, and a few just have me curious to see how the chaos unfolds. Here’s my countdown of the Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2026, plus a few honorable mentions that might sneak up on us.

10. The Mandalorian and Grogu

Star Wars doesn’t have the same magic it used to, but I’m still a lifelong fan — and The Mandalorian and Grogu could be the one to reignite that spark. If it captures the heart of the Disney+ show while feeling cinematic, not like an extended TV episode, it could be something special.

9. Street Fighter

Video game movies are hit or miss — mostly miss — but I can’t lie, I’m curious about Street Fighter. The casting is weird, the tone looks unpredictable, and that’s kind of why I’m interested. If they can nail the fight choreography and at least respect the characters, this could be the start of something cool. If not… I’ll be rolling my eyes in slow motion.

8. Mercy

This one might fly under the radar, but Mercy gives me major Minority Report vibes — futuristic, stylish, and a little self-serious. I already know this might be mid, but I’m a sucker for sci-fi. Even when it’s not great, it’s still fun to explore new worlds and “what ifs.”

7. Night Patrol

CM Punk. Vampires. That’s all I needed to hear. Night Patrol looks like one of those gritty action horror flicks that could either be surprisingly awesome or gloriously bad. Either way, it’s going to be entertaining — and sometimes that’s all you really need.

6. Ready or Not 2: Here I Come

The first Ready or Not was a chaotic blast — dark humor, wild kills, and that perfectly unhinged energy. The sequel has a lot to live up to, but if it keeps that same “rich people gone mad” tone, I’m all in. Just don’t overdo it — subtle crazy works best here.

5. Scream 7

This one’s tricky. With the main leads gone, Scream 7 has to lean hard into the legacy characters. That could either be nostalgic fun or a desperate attempt to keep the mask on. But I’m always down for some clever kills, self-aware writing, and Ghostface doing his thing. Let’s see if they can make it work one more time.

4. Dune: Part Three

The first two Dune films were cinematic masterpieces — epic visuals, incredible performances, and some of the best worldbuilding we’ve seen in sci-fi. Now we’re closing out the trilogy, and I couldn’t be more excited. Denis Villeneuve hasn’t missed yet, so expectations are sky-high for this one.

3. Mortal Kombat II

After a delay from 2025, Mortal Kombat II is finally set to hit theaters in summer 2026. And honestly? That delay might’ve been a blessing. The first one had potential but didn’t fully deliver on the action fans wanted. This time around, I’m expecting more brutal fights, proper tournament vibes, and plenty of “Finish Him!” moments.

2. Spider-Man: Brand New Day

This is a big one — Spider-Man: Brand New Day kicks off a new chapter for Spidey. I’ve stayed spoiler-free on this one, so I’m going in blind, just ready to enjoy the ride. Hopefully, the “Brand New Day” title means a real fresh start — not another identity crisis. Tom Holland deserves something bold and different here.

Honorable Mentions

Before we get to number one, here are a few extra movies that caught my eye:

  • Toy Story 5 – My son made me watch the original over a hundred times last year, so yeah, I’m curious to see where the toys go next.
  • Greenland 2: Migration – The trailer gave me big Moonfall energy — I just want chaos, destruction, and some good popcorn moments.
  • Primate – The trailer looked solid, and this one could easily be a surprise hit. Fingers crossed it delivers.

1. Avengers: Doomsday

No surprise here — Avengers: Doomsday is my most anticipated movie of 2026.

This is Marvel’s make-or-break moment. The whole Kang situation was a disaster, and I’m still mad we didn’t get a proper recast. But if this film can reset the tone, tighten up the storytelling, and give fans a real reason to care again, it could bring the MCU roaring back.

If not… well, it might be the last gasp of the Avengers we knew. Either way, I’m locked in for opening night.

Final Thoughts

2026 is looking like a huge year for movie fans — and honestly, I’m just excited to sit back with some popcorn (or maybe a teacup), and see how these stories unfold.
