The Last of Us adaptation is being worked on by HBO. Lead actor, Pedro Pascal is set to play the role of Joel in the 10 episode series. The first season will cover the plot of the first game. While talking to GQ, the actor said that the show “really is made for people that love” The Last of Us. He went on to compliment the creative process in making the show, even drawing comparisons to another show that he stars in playing a certain bounty hunter.
Even though the adaptation will change things given its a different medium, HBO has said that the television show won’t undo the original games story. HBO is even working closely with the co-creator of The Last of Us who is fully involved in the show.
Pascal has been quite busy lately, he is set to star in ‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’ alongside Nicolas Cage releasing on April 22, 2022. He also stars in The Mandalorian, which is working on its third season. The Last of Us TV show isn’t expected to stream until late 2023.
