Zack Snyder reportedly to be involved.
There’s no disputing that Henry Cavill and Warner Bros. and DC Films haven’t always gotten along, and despite being the Superman actor who introduced the DC Extended Universe almost 10 years ago, Cavill hasn’t made much of an appearance in the series. In addition to other team-up ideas, Cavill was supposed to appear in his own Man of Steel trilogy, but the studio reportedly changed its mind.
Fans have new hope that the DCEU will finally be able to live up to its full potential because to the recent Warner Bros. Discovery merger, which is being overseen by David Zaslav. According to sources, Zaslav is dedicated to bringing order to the brand, which has a history of making dubious creative choices. If the rumors are accurate, the executive wants to reinstate Superman as the movie’s leading superhero.
Speaking of, it appears like WB Discovery is giving fans what they have been clamoring for all these time—the sequel to Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. DC insider Syl Abdul claims that Man of Steel 2 is finally progressing inside the studio, with Snyder likely to sign a significant agreement in the near future.
If the alleged project is confirmed, it would be perfect timing given that the first Man of Steel debuted in theaters ten years ago. Although there have been conflicting stories surrounding Cavill’s standing in the DCEU and nothing has been formally confirmed, it’s difficult to get thrilled at this early stage. Nevertheless, I have faith that WB Discovery has its finger on the pulse.
HBO Max offers streaming of Man of Steel.
