Former LA Noire Developers Reportedly Working on New 1940s Game

Developers from the original LA Noire team are reportedly working on a new project titled “Sowden House,” a psychological thriller set in 1940s Los Angeles. This information was revealed by Freyja Garbett, an Australian composer, on Instagram. She shared that she was composing music for the game, which is inspired by a case from LA Noire that was never included in the final game.

“Sowden House” is named after the residence of Dr. George Hodel, a prime suspect in the infamous Black Dahlia murder case. Garbett’s Instagram post included a video of music being recorded, further confirming her involvement in the project.

Video Games Deluxe, a studio formed by former Team Bondi members, has clarified that while they are currently working exclusively on projects for Rockstar, the music commissioned from Garbett was for a VR project from several years ago. This project, based on an unused LA Noire case, was more of a tech demo and its future remains uncertain.

The studio previously developed “LA Noire: The VR Case Files” and has been associated with Rockstar since 2020, working on a AAA open-world VR title.

Despite the closure of Team Bondi after the release of LA Noire, Video Games Deluxe continues to develop new content, maintaining the legacy of the original game and exploring new storytelling avenues in the gaming world.
