Amazon’s live-action adaptation of Fallout has garnered 16 nominations for the 76th Emmy Awards. Among these is a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series, where it competes with titles like 3 Body Problem, Shogun, The Crown, Slow Horses, and Mr & Mrs Smith. Walton Goggins has also been nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as The Ghoul.
The series has received nominations across multiple categories, including writing, visual effects, and production design. Co-showrunner Graham Wagner highlighted the creative origins of Fallout, comparing the current TV landscape to the transformative era of 60s and 70s Marvel Comics. Fellow showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet expressed excitement about expanding the Fallout universe in future seasons, noting that Season 1 only scratched the surface of the franchise’s rich mythology.
Wagner emphasized that even Season 2 will just begin to delve deeper into Fallout’s expansive world. This marks the second consecutive year that a video game adaptation has achieved significant Emmy recognition, following HBO’s The Last of Us, which secured eight awards last year.
