Norland by Long Jaunt Hits 500,000 Wishlists on Steam

Hooded Horse, an indie publisher, is celebrating the success of their upcoming game Norland, which has surpassed 500,000 wishlists on Steam. Developed by Long Jaunt, Norland is described as a “medieval colony sim” that emphasizes building a kingdom from scratch, akin to games like RimWorld or Dwarf Fortress.

Norland aims to simulate the needs and emotions of both ruling families and peasants, including aspects like hunger and sex drive. With competition from other kingdoms, players can expect plenty of political intrigue and strategic gameplay.

Originally slated for an Early Access launch on May 16, Norland’s release has been pushed back to July 18 to allow for additional improvements based on community feedback. Despite the delay, the game’s success on Steam’s wishlist rankings highlights significant anticipation from players.

Hooded Horse expressed excitement over Norland’s reception and the opportunity to continue refining the game before its wider release. As Norland garners attention within the gaming community, it positions itself as another promising title in the medieval city-building strategy genre.
